I am a dedicated educator specialising in Vocational Education and Training (VET), with a passion for fostering student success. My experience in teaching Construction, along with a proactive approach to resource development and community engagement, allows me to create enriching, hands on learning experiences. I am committed to continually enhancing our VET programs by sharing best practices with colleagues and broader educational communities. Growing up in a rural town has instilled in me a deep sense of connectedness and generosity, which I bring to my efforts to support students and build meaningful relationships within the school and community. I am eager to leverage my skills and enthusiasm to further the goals of a dynamic educational institution, ensuring every student has the support and opportunities needed to thrive in their vocational paths.

  • Experience teaching: Stage 4 Technology Mandatory (Engineering, Design, Coding, Timber), Stage 5 Food Technology, Stage 6 VET Construction.
  • As a VET and Technologies Teacher at Waverley College, I am responsible for delivering engaging and informative lessons in the fields of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Technologies.
  • My role involves collaborating with colleagues to create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment, adapting projects to fit class sizes and available work area, developing and sharing resources to enhance student engagement and understanding, monitoring student progress, providing necessary support, and helping students overcome challenges and succeed in academic and work placements.
  • I have encouraged students in achievements outside the classroom and have mentored a student towards representing Waverley College at state level at the NSW VET Training Awards.
  • Outside my role as a teacher, I have had the privilege of working alongside the Aboriginal Liaison Officer to support Walawaani students in exploring their cultural heritage.
  • On several occasions, I have accompanied these students on excursions, helping them connect with their cultural backgrounds.
  • Additionally, I have collaborated with the Go Foundation, an organisation dedicated to providing educational opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

  • During my experience as a Technologies Teacher at Terrigal High School, I facilitated learning experiences in technology related subjects, guided students in exploring various technological tools and applications, taught 3D CAD design and 3D printing, used the laser cutter and Adobe Illustrator for project manufacturing, provided mentorship and support to students, and underwent continuous learning to enhance professional development.
  • Outside my commitments as a Technologies teacher, I offered my assistance before school and during planning periods to assist colleagues and their senior classes finalise projects for the HSC.
  • I underwent training to become the Anti Racism Contact Officer and was successful in a shared position of Year 9 Year Advisor.

  • Outside my commitments of a teacher, I volunteered my afternoons twice a week to study centre, assisted breakfast clubs in the morning and provided assistance to staff in upskilling through the use of ICT programs such as Fusion 360.
