Chelsey Ross

In 2023, after my completion of my Cert III in Animal Handling at TAFE QLD, I gained a position at Peak Vets, where I am still currently employed. During my employment, I pursued my Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing at UQ (currently studying). During my time at Peak Vets, I have gained extensive knowledge and skills within this career. Although I am not fully qualified, some of the areas that I have been thoroughly trained in include, but are not limited to:

• Provided comprehensive nursing care to animals in a veterinary hospital setting.
• Answering phones, navigating bookings, price estimates, creating client and patient files, creating invoices, sending emails, updating patient health status and histories, and much more using EzyVet.
• Administered medications, vaccinations and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Monitored vital signs of animals and reported any changes or abnormalities to the veterinarian.
• Assisted with medical procedures including drawing blood, administering intravenous fluids and cleaning wounds.
• Maintained accurate patient records, ensuring all information is updated regularly.
• Performed laboratory tests such as urinalysis, fecal analysis and blood counts.
• Educated clients on proper pet care techniques, nutrition and preventive health measures.
• Responded to emergency situations in a timely manner and provided appropriate treatment for sick or injured animals.
• Maintained cleanliness of exam rooms, kennels and other areas within the clinic facility.
• Stocked supplies in examining rooms and restocked after each appointment was completed.
• Greeted clients upon arrival at the clinic and assisted them with paperwork prior to their visit.
• Assisted veterinarians during surgical procedures by providing instrumentation, monitoring anesthesia levels, restraining animals when needed and maintaining a sterile field.

During my time within this company i gained a wide range of skills and experience within many faces of the company. Some of these skills/experiences included:

• Greeting customer and offered assistance in finding requested items, helping boost customer satisfaction and retention.
• Restocked shelves, racks and bins with latest merchandise and changed signage to promote special items.
• Followed company policies, rules and procedures to promote company goals and maintain safety.
• Processed merchandise returns and exchanges for customers to refund payments, trade items and offer store credit.
• Handled price checks, merchandise transfers and fitting room returns to keep store orderly and efficient.
• Completed assigned training to stay updated on important policies and procedures.
• Generated brand awareness and positive product impressions to increase sales.
• Drove sales by successfully employing upselling and cross-selling strategies.
• Assisted regional managers with monthly updates to the store and participated in meetings, KPI management, and team-building exercises.
• Towards the end of my employment, I was offered a management position, which I declined as I knew this wasn't going to be my forever job. Soon after, I started my career in vet nursing.

During my employment within this company i gained crucial skills in regards to customer service, scheduling, microsoft usage, multiline phone systems and much more. Some of the roles i maintained during this time included:

• Assisted real estate agents with scheduling appointments, conducting market research and preparing sales documents.
• Maintained accurate records of all transactions including contracts, closing statements and other legal documents.
• Responded to inbound inquiries from customers, vendors and partners
• Prepared presentations and communications materials for senior leadership team.
• Attended and recorded sales meeting minutes, distributed meeting notes and assigned follow-up actions.
• Worked closely with sales manager to grow customer base through social media postings.
• Created and prepared form 6's using information given and found from RPdata.
• Created and prepared residential house and land contracts.
• Calculated and created tax invoices based off commission percentages and advertising costs.
• Used RPdata to create marketing reports and map out suburbs to create letter mail outs to potential sellers.
• Created just sold fliers and expression of interest flyers for sales agents.
• Have experience using ProertyMe, RPdata, Valut, RealHub, RealWorks, Open2View, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and other platforms.

During my employment within this company, I gained experience in many faces of agricultural farming, customer service, work ethic, social skills, software usage, and money handling. I took part in many roles and responsibilities such as:

• Following company policies, rules and procedures to promote company goals and maintain safety.
• Calculated pricing, applied discounts, and collected payments to process transactions. Processed merchandise returns and exchanges for customers to refund payments, trade items, and offer store credit.
• Answered questions about current promotions and resolved issues according to store policies.
• Generated brand awareness and positive product impressions to increase sales.
• Worked with off-site locations to find desired items for customers.
• Recruited, hired, and trained new staff to develop excellent product knowledge.
• Restocked shelves, racks and bins with latest merchandise and changed signage to promote special items.
• Completed assigned training to stay updated on important policies and procedures.
