Summary

I have always been passionate about helping others, thriving in my roles as a support worker and SLSO. I thoroughly enjoy my work as an SLSO at Francis Greenway High School. I feel that working in a primary school setting would be an excellent opportunity to deepen my skills in a way that is more closely related to my degree as a future Primary School Teacher.

Work History

Disability Support Worker

Hireup
01.2022 - Current
  • I am responsible for assisting clients with activities and appointments, prioritising their well-being and promoting community engagement
  • I have developed strong skills in providing individualised support to patients with disabilities, fostering their independence and academic growth
  • Enhanced quality of life for clients with physical and intellectual disabilities through compassionate care and assistance.

Student Learning Support Officer (SLSO)

Department Of Education
02.2024 - Current
  • With my experience as an SLSO I have been challenged when assisting below stage students with complex content, I have learnt to adapt different strategies to allow them to achieve success.
  • Whilst working as an SLSO I have been assisting a Vietnamese EAL/D student who is undergoing a program to develop their English proficiency.
  • My SLSO work is in a low-socio-economic area, where I am building strong relationships with students who come from significant trauma backgrounds which results in a distrust of most adults and authority figures. By developing these relationships, I have been able to better support students on their educational journeys.
