  • I covered my ASO3 coordinator colleagues daily and while they were taking a holiday, I was paid higher duties for this and I would happily accept, I also worked happily in shift work and on the weekends for nine years
  • Liaised with my Supervisor and the Coordinators at the shift change if anything had occurred during my shift, for example any fleet accidents or what runs had to be covered due to colleague illness which is common within any medical industry.

  • I was responsible for the preparation of the prisoner’s belongings to go to court hearings and I would have to bag and tag the prisoners correct property so that if the were released from court then their property was with them via the G4 or Ventia vans who take the prisoner to court
  • Interaction with prisoners as required in a professional respectful manner regarding any property concern and explaining with patience what has happened if any property was missing for example, SAPOL has seized your phone etc etc
  • Entered the prisoner’s property into the JIS system with every item detailed and finding any contraband and recording that as evidence for court, I would also come across huge amounts of syringes too so I wore PPE happily
  • Handled the prisoner’s finances and if I received any cash I would receipt it and put it into the safe supplied onsite
  • I constantly liaised with the Ventia van staff about prisoners property and I would tick off the sealed tags of property against what was brought in by the staff in the van carrying prisoners from other prisons.

Leadership Experience

I have previously looked after Asian students for a period of 8 years through Homestay Uni SA and I really enjoyed my time with them in my own home treating each child as my own and helping them with all sorts of questions and taking them out driving around on outings with my own children. The students would fully need to trust me to care for them and I did and a couple still keep in touch it was awesome to have them around.

Communication Skills

I have come across a great deal of different individuals in my working life and I can easily adapt to communication changes for example dealing with prisoners quite easily and then communication effectively with Management also with ease.
