I am a motivated, hardworking and trustworthy individual. I work well with others and have a genuine love for animals.
I became interested in Veterinary Science after exploring career options at the Brisbane Career Expo. I spent time talking with some of the University of Queensland students and discussed the profession with a friend of my fathers who was a practicing Vet.
Following this, I organised to spend a week with the staff at the Bulimba Veterinary Clinic over the September holidays. This experience helped me to gain certainty that this career path was the one I wanted to follow.
I gained some fantastic experience in some of the day-to-day activities of a Vet and am hopeful that I will have the opportunity to follow this career path with the University of Queensland.
Emmanuel City Mission (ECM) is a daytime sanctuary for the homeless and vulnerable.
I started working at ECM about six months ago after feeling a call to help those who are less fortunate than myself. I have been a part of the Emmanuel Community who attend weekly mass at the centre and was conscious of the needs of the people of indigenous Australian who make up a high proportion of the day-to-day visitors.
Whilst my monthly serving was about giving back it has proved to be a day that I look forward to and has become a rewarding experience.
Some of the activities I undertake whilst serving include:

As a Tae Kwon Do instructor I:
During the second week of the September school holidays I worked in the Bulimba Vet Surgery.
During my work placement I had opportunity to with with a number of practicing Vets and other students currently enrolled at the University of Queensland.
I had opportunity to work alongside Vets, Vet Nurses, Animal Handlers and a Vet Physiotherapist. This gave me a great insight into what the day to day activities of a Vet surgery involve. Some of the activities I undertook included:
