• Identification and management of acute deterioration in residents related to falls and infections compounded by co-morbidities

• Management and administration of all medications including injectables and S8 medications using the six rights

Emergency Department:

• Cannulation on adults and children
• Assessing patient conditions immediately upon arrival into the emergency department, checking vital signs, performing ECGs and determining initial Triage score.
• Communication with emergency doctors via Telehealth services
• Attending to pediatric patients who present to emergency
• Attending to Mental Health patient who present to emergency, performing risk assessments and mental state examinations
• Removal of foreign objects from the body (as appropriate)

• Using WA Health polices and pathways such as chest pain, asthma, stroke and sepsis to care for patients

Medical/Acute Care Ward:

• Liaising with the doctor to plan, implement and evaluate plans of care for patients

• Educating patients and caregivers on diagnosis, treatment options and self-management
• Precepting student nurses
• Providing comprehensive instruction on discharge plans to sustain continuity of care upon discharge
