Working as a new graduate RN my first rotation was in Coronary Care Unit for 6 months working alongside highly skilled and experienced critical care nurses to deliver high quality, safe and effective healthcare. Learning how to care for patients on inotropic medications, manage non invasive ventilation, Interpreting cardiac rhythm's and ECG's along with solidifying all my basic care needs for adult patients.
My second rotation was working in the paediatric ward for 6 months. Working alongside again, highly experienced and skilled nurses to deliver care and develop an understanding of caring for the sick child. Managing non invasive ventilation on paediatric patients as a new grad was a highlight of this rotation and caring for "close observation beds" for the sicker children. This was all alongside learning the basics of paediatric care and learning how to effectively communicate to both children and parents.
