  • Manage Hurt On Duty (HOD) claims by current & former pre-88 police officers for HOD benefits in accordance with Police Regulation (Superannuation) Act 1906. These claims are based on physiological injuries and/or psychological conditions
  • Investigate and case manage Hurt on Duty claims in accordance with the Police Act, Workers Compensation Act, Police Regulation (Superannuation) Act 1906 & Police Regulation 2015 and prepare relevant submissions & certificates, including recommendations of liability to the Commissioner’s Delegate. • Support the Manager through the provision of advice and ongoing case management of claims including appealed claims in the IRC and the District Court under the Police Regulation 2015 which includes Pre-79 Hurt on Duty claims • Utilise a wide range of resources and services to provide information and advice to assist internal and external stakeholders. • Collect and analyse data to maintain claims best practice knowledge that supports informed case management and decision-making. • Maintain current awareness of relevant legislation and case law regarding the Police Regulation (Superannuation) Act 1906 and Workers Compensation Act and relevant internal policies and procedures. • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to Assistant Case Managers • Prepare and participate in regular claims reviews with Manager to ensure efficient case management • Interpret legislation, awards and conditions of employment, and provide appropriate advice.   • Responsible for beginning to end case management of my Intermediated Property Insurance portfolio, including but not limited to; Being primary point of contact for relevant internal and external stakeholders, communicating claims process and setting strategies for successful claims management
