Skills

  • Partnership Management

I spent almost 5 years at Amazon Web Services (AWS) building up a partner community, starting with 1 partner and finishing on 52 in the ANZ region, who I helped to become successful in the arena of systems migration with AWS and ensuring they function well with each other both in ANZ and globally for our joint customers benefit Part of this role was to locally run and strategically improve AWS’ largest funding model

At Fujitsu I founded, built, and ran the Application Modernization Offering utilizing a community of over 40 technical partners based across 23 countries I sourced these partners and mentored them, ensuring that our customers gained the greatest benefit and that our partners and Fujitsu increased success in the modernization arena

  • Team Leadership

I have built several successful global teams for Fujitsu from inception through to fully functioning profit centers I tend towards the Leader/Servant style of team leadership which involves the running of communities within, and outside of the organization and leading by example I have run teams across 23 countries with a global core team run virtually across Australia, Japan, Singapore, UK, US and Finland as well as local teams in Japan and Australia

At AWS (Amazon Web Services) I was Program Lead for the Migration Acceleration Program in ANZ with team members in Australia and New Zealand

  • Program Management

For numerous projects my role required significant program and project management skills across all geographical regions and the various styles with which those regions undertake project control

At AWS I managed the Migration partner community for 4 years 10 months, growing the community from 1 to 52 partners Each partner had their own idiosyncrasies and helping them to individually grow was a program management activity which I particularly relished

  • Innovation

I am always looking for ways to improve performance and help achieve results through innovation and thinking outside the box At AWS this included the funding assessment experiment which became a global funding program and part of one of the largest programs sets, regular business development meetings with partners known as “Jam Sessions”, A long running program to build partner led opportunity interaction, localized funding training and the creation of a front door-based Wiki to enhance communication within AWS I also created a program to catch lower scale funding opportunities and a global scheme to award partners with animal adoptions instead of merchandise, this concept was taken up by several other regions

  • Communication

Enhancing communication is a running theme throughout my career At Fujitsu I presented at numerous Forums and Tours and was accredited to speak to the media on the company’s behalf Winning the Fujitsu global Outstanding Communication award from the Global President

At AWS I ensure that the migration partners (at all levels of attainment) were communicating in efficient and effective manner with Amazonians, third parties and even internally within themselves

For partners, undertaking a migration competency involved a great deal of effort and I guided the partners through the process whilst building up their channels in AWS to grow their migration business and beyond As demonstrated by the number of partners progressing through the process

  • Building from Scratch

At Fujitsu, I put forward the initial idea of the global migration team to the global board and, after receiving consent, built the team from the ground up to become a successful global group I ran the team for 8 years until I left Fujitsu Becoming a non-voting member of, and advisor to, the Corporate Strategic Technology Board

The AWS partner migration community is effectively a team I utilized my program management skills to help ensure that the team members not only act in harmony but that they could also all see significant growth potential in being an active community member

At Fujitsu, since founding the modernization offering, I was responsible for the building of several global and regional teams, with highly engaged members and an extremely low attrition rate The team members enjoyed being part of a movement that was helping customers, improving their own skills and enhancing their own careers

  • Mentoring and Training

During my careers I have acted as mentor to graduates and trainees all the way to Vice Presidents and partner CEOs and Founders

I have built and run training courses for external and internal groups throughout my career and have always received good reviews for these activities
