I am a very motivated and self driven worker. I am always looking to learn new skills and have an open mind. Naturally very caring and safety conscious, looking out for not only myself but the others around me. I’m prepared to put in the hard yards and do what it takes to deliver high quality work on time. I have a vast range of skills and experiences and believe I am a great asset to any company.
I am currently working at the Dugald River Mine as an underground Diamond Driller Offsider on a 2 week on 1 week off roster. Working alongside the Driller specifically with the MDR500 Drill Rig it is my responsibility to ensure the rig is maintained and serviced to ensure optimal drilling performance. Ensuring a safe work site is upheld and Safe Work Procedures are followed while carrying out daily tasks. I provide accurately labelled and clean core samples to the client while meeting KPI’s and production targets. Other daily tasks include pre start inspections on LV, Drill Rig, driving underground to and from site. My strong attention to detail, extensive safety knowledge and physical fitness have helped me thrive in this role.
Working for the principal contractor on Queenslands largest infrastructure project - Cross River Rail. I was employed as a Dogman and Labourer and worked at multiple sites across the project. Being a part of Fairfield Station from the demolition stage right through to handover to the Queensland Government and public opening. Then based at Yeerongpilly Station from beginning stages also. Safety is a major focus and ensuring the site meets and goes beyond safety standards is essential. I have partaken in a wide range of tasks on site depending on the stage of the project such as Earthworks, Formwork, concrete pours, working with Franna and slew cranes, operating EWP’s - both scissor and boom lifts. Working with a strong safety focus and ensuring all SWMS are followed and that control measures for any hazards are in place.
Working for Matrix Rail I was based at Fairfield Station on the Cross River Rail project. As the primary Recipient (AP) on site I was responsible for the electrical safety of our work group when working around live 25kv overhead lines . Obtaining and holding Queensland Rail documents such as SCA’s & Form C’s to allow critical works to commence within the 3 metre electrical exclusion zone. Day to day tasks also include concreting, formwork, dogging and general labouring tasks. All works are completed with a strong safety focus in mind.
Working FIFO on a 3-1 roster in regional Queensland. This project was for Adani and called the Carmichael Rail Network, delivering 250km of track between the coal mine to join into an existing line leading out to the port. I performed various tasks in railway construction such as sleeper lay down, clipping up of track once threaded on, track corrections, adjustments and restress. Working alongside heavy track machinery and other plant safety was always a huge focus. This role was also very physical and long hours so I always had a big focus on fatigue management and making sure I am always fit for duty.
Installing architectural steel work such as balustrade, hand rails, perforated screens, steel framing, bollards, stair nosing at sites such as the New Youth Detention Centre, University of Queensland etc. Daily use of power and hand tools, interpreting often complex designs to complete the task on time to a high standard. Working constantly out of EWP and alongside various cranes. Occasional dogging work performed with this role, slinging of loads and instructing crane operators.
Use of various hand and power tools to install cold panel and build custom Cold Rooms while following SWMS and site specific safety procedures. Operation of scissor and boom lifts. The majority of my time spent with CRC was on a large site in Heathwood building the Distribution Centre for Hilton Foods.
Approaching the "Go Live" date in February I was promoted to Team Leader. I oversaw the Receiving/Inbound team as well as a team of put away based forklift drivers.
In my time as Team Leader I implemented processes for the receiving team to follow and strategically set up the receiving floor space to maximise safety & productivity.
Reporting to the DC Manager, I lead a successful team of 15 Team Members that have all been trained from scratch. Together, we encountered and overcame different obstacles along the go live process. Often dealing with very expensive and temperature sensitive products within the pharmaceutical industry it is crucial that team members have clear and straight forward instructions to follow, with a high attention to detail.
