I am currently employed as an Education Assistant – Special Needs with the Department of Education WA at Hampton Senior High School and previously in a relief capacity also at Lockridge Primary School and Mirrabooka Senior High School in their Education Support Centre since April 2014. Duties and responsibilities include: Providing Support for students, promoting confidence and helping them achieve their full potential Recording Student results and observations and providing feedback information to the classroom teacher and Learning Support Co-ordinator when appropriate Assist in the writing and implementation of individual Education Plans Assist in modifying educational programs for individual students and small groups Encouraging students to interact with peers and teachers in a positive way Exam Supervisor – West Australian School Curriculum and Standards Authority and Mercy College These casual positions as a WACE supervisor for the West Australian School Curriculum and Standards Authority and an Exam Supervisor at Mercy College, Mirrabooka, required the general supervision of students during end of year, trial and WACE examinations. Dealing with students who are possibly under stress requires a wide range of interpersonal skills. Unfortunately this initiative was shut down after only one year due an overwhelming response from the public not predicted or budgeted for by the Government. Drafting and preparation of Annual General Meeting papers and Section 43 Certificates (necessary for the sale of strata property). I also co-ordinated the maintenance and repair of strata property, i.e. obtaining quotes and arranging contractors to attend and carry out necessary works. Other responsibilities included correspondence, data entry and liaising with owners, residents, real estate agents, property managers and Insurance companies assisting all with their concerns and queries. I resigned from this position to care for our youngest child, born a month later.
