- An assessor's role in the meat industry, is to grade and score carcass cattle on the marbling of the meat
- As a labourer, I would cut a specific section of the body that needs to be seen for the assessors to grade
- This would involve cutting up to 800 body a day
- I would also temperature check the carcase
- Labouring for the assessors is a training role
- Therefore, I took part in learning and grading the meat as well
- This role allowed me to expand my understanding and knowledge of data entry
- Documented condition and special features to provide accurate estimations.
CHILLER UNLOADER-TEAM LEADER

- As current team leader, I am responsible for the results and completion of the job task at hand
- I am also responsible for rostering the team each day
- I must have clear communication with the head supervisor and other supervisors, to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and correctly
- There are numerous tasks for this job that must be completed efficiently and safely, these include but are not limited to: unload heavy beef bodies on rails and move to a holding chiller
- When transporting the carcass body into holding chillers they are to be marshalled and separated into their preferred marble score
- This task requires a lot of skilled planning, due to the tight area, and financial restraints of ensuring the job is completed properly
- This job and skill is utilised multiple times per day due to the high amount of daily orders
