Summary

I am currently seeking a full time/permanent position preferably where I can finish my apprenticeship. I am open minded about further expanding my skills and work experience within any field. I have completed 3.5 years of apprentice work as a painter/decorator and other experiences in the work field and during this time I have learned a variety of multiple use skills such as time management, and communication skills with colleagues and clients.

PAINTER AND DECORATOR APPRENTICE

PROCORP PAINTING
  • I worked at Procorp Painting through my 1st and 2nd year of my apprenticeship
  • Working on a variety of houses and locations all over the southern highlands and south coast
  • During my time here I learnt a variety of skills as a trade worker through both on-site training and through online tafe work
  • Some key responsibilities of mine while at Procorp Painting were, prepping of house both interior and exterior, gapping, puttying, patching, sanding and scraping of walls, and brush work.

PAINTER DECORATOR APPRENTICE

LETS PAINT AND DECORATE
  • I worked here during my 3rd and partially my 4th year of my apprenticeship
  • While at Lets Paint and Decorate I gained a variety of new and more advanced skills within my trade, and more communication with clients and colleagues
  • Some of the main skills I had gained while here were rolling of house both exterior and interior, use of different paints for different types of walls and finishes, spray painting house interiors, texture coating brick structures, and glossing of wooden structures.
  • I left due to starting sub contracting.

SUB CONTRACTOR

ALL FOR YOU PAINTING
  • Working as a Subcontractor for 3 months during 2020, as a trade worker this allowed me to further push and expand my skills as a house painter; and also learn a variety of skills in different trades as well
  • Some of the skills that I learnt are, basic bricklaying techniques, painting and glossing of furniture, cleaning of ponds, basic landscape work, more in depth experience with re-paints on older houses, further expanding of customer communication skills, and also learning how to write invoices, and quoting for trade jobs.

  • I worked at this establishment for 3 years furthering my knowledge in residential house painting, bettering my basic painting skills, learning how to spray walls, and also working on ranges of wood staining, and other advanced coatings. This with my other jobs has given me a great foundation to continue learning I am also seeking to finish my apprenticeship as i left to start sub contracting.
