Dear Hiring Manager,
Im excited to be applying for a TIR position to gain the experience and skills required to be a great asset to a crew/vessel as a Intergrated Rating within the Company.
I believe my hands on experience running a construction business for the last 10 years has equip me with a great ability to not only take on any hands on task given but to also solve and manage any issues that could arise on a vessel in a quick and safe manner due to my fast learning and great spatial awareness. Working in crews of up to 80 workers and in remote locations has showed me how well I adapt to any situation and work exceptionally well within a team.
Running a successful Construction business (Wall & Floor Tiling/ Waterproofing) has been both very rewarding and possible due to my inherent high self motivation & drive along with my ability to communicate and build strong relationships with both clients and fellow trades/employers/employees of all different walks of life & backgrounds. This has been balanced with my excellent and extensive hands on skills and use of hand tools/power tools.
As much as I enjoy my current career, my strong desire to work in maritime due to having a strong passion for both the ocean and boats/ships, growing up on an Island (Russell Island, QLD- 20 years) and having many generations of family members in maritime has finally convinced me to chase my new challenge and desired career path.
