Dear Sharon Ann Condon,
I am writing to you to express my interest in the position of Administration Support School Officer at Clairvaux MacKillop College.
From the beginning of my professional career I learnt early on the value of being able to communicate and conduct myself in a professional manner. While my previous jobs have been in varied fields they all required attention to detail in acquiring actuate and detailed information to achieve an outstanding product. In the past 11 years my husband and I have owned and operated 2 successful small businesses, this would not have be possible without exceptional communication skills and attention to detail.
In my previous positions I have been able to demonstrate proficient computer skill in using program's such as MYOB for accounting, payroll, and invoicing. Word for creating Tender proposals and Job worksheets and Excel for equipment logs and servicing, stock control and Carnet lodgement for Customs Documents.
While I have no experience working in VET programs or academic pathways. I have an understanding of the different pathways a student may wish to take while at school. I think its amazing the options student have these day and the ability to build skills and obtain knowledge of the workforce or academic options while remaining in the schooling environment. The world seems so small these days and being able to give our young people every advantage to succeed is paramount. I have a son that has just started at Clairvaux MacKillop College this year and while he is still young I'm very grateful he has the opportunity to gather information that will put him on the path for success.
I have been very fortunate to have flexible work conditions which afforded me the luxury of being able to volunteer in my son's classrooms (prep-Grade 3) and help out with school functions and stalls. It was very rewarding not only because I got to see my son's progress in the classroom but to also re-enforce the importance of a love of learning and importance of supporting community.
I am a highly motivated and organised person who is a fast leaner and not afraid to try something new. I work well with others and bring with me years of not only working with other but guiding, training employees. In small business, if your team isn't working well, you're not efficient and profitable.
I appreciate your time and consideration for this position.
Sincerely,
Clair Prendergast
