Currently employed as a medical scientist, second in charge at Australian Clinical Labs in the Anatomical Pathology department.

As second in charge I am responsible for over seeing the daily running of the Histology laboratory.. This includes managing specimen work flow, work distribution, staff levels, rostering and troubleshooting problems.

It is my responsibility to ensure the laboratory is adhering to all procedures including safety and quality. This involves managing all staff records of training and competency.

My daily tasks include specimen grossing, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, histological staining, special stains, immunohistochemistry staining, slide prepartion and allocation of cases to pathologists.
