Rambutan Hotel Townsville
09.2022 - 12.2023
Running breakfast to lunch service 5 days a week
Responsibility of opening the business at 6:30am to set up for the day
This included taking orders, making coffees, running food and involved alcohol such as making cocktails
I also carried out restocking bottle shop daily and completed orders for our coffee supplier
This role was very fast paced as the hotel was constantly busy with guests and regulars coming in
In this role there was a lot of team work involved as there was only two of us working together at all times along with the chefs to make sure everything ran smoothly so that there were no delays with customers orders
This role was challenging as you had to think on your feet a lot of the time in order to resolve some of the customers issues.
Performed general cleaning by sweeping and mopping floors, washing dishes and emptying trash.
Reduced risks by maintaining clean and organised work environment.
Trained new staff members in customer service techniques and hotel operations.

Admin Officer
Civil Service Employee
05.2018 - 05.2022
My main focus in this role was to make sure the paying parent was paying accurate child maintenance to the receiving parent and following government legislation
This employment was very demanding as we would have constant disputes over payments where we had to step in to try and resolve between both parties
Dealing with the client's personal circumstances daily and showing empathy towards the client when needed
Completing changes like change of income, shared care and variations
I worked in three different departments within my time In this role: Arrears, Change To Service Type and Mandatory reconsideration
Arrears work included: Chasing the paying parent for the debt accrued over time such as Deduction Of Earnings Order (DEO) directly from the clients wages, taking disclosure action which meant we took money directly from their bank account or actioning a liability order which then summons the client to court
Change To Service Type included: Direct Pay, where the paying parent paid the receiving parent directly or Collect and Pay which was the Child Maintenance Service collecting the money then issuing it out to the receiving parent (both clients had a deduction of a combined 24% with Collect And Pay)
Mandatory Reconsideration included: A team which clients dealt with to dispute previous decisions that were made on their claims
Mandatory Reconsideration was a very thorough role as we had to make sure that we had made the right decision on the claim going forward based on the evidence we were supplied and legislation as the client could take this to a tribunal
These decisions had to be completed within a timeframe of 28 days
This role was mainly decision making and clerical work with 5-10 inbound calls per day
Team work was a massive part of this role.
