I am often required to data entry enrolments onto SIS.
Part of my duties I am require answering the phone, transfer calls and take messages, deal with couriers as well as answering enquiries from Staff, Students and visitors.
If a student arrives late I enter students into a programme called Integris / Compass.
My duties include filing, photocopying, laminating, assisting Customer Service Manager as well as any other duties.
At the end of day I collect the mail, tidy and clean reception area.
I quite often get asked for information regarding enrolments, uniform, student policies.
The Principal quite frequently need things completed in a urgent manner, as they have meetings though out the day.
Once I have confirmed how many copies they require, I photocopy double sided and staple.
When the photocopying is completed then I proceed to laminate.
Once my tasks are completed I return to the Principal.
I return to my check list and confirm with CSM what I am required to complete.
The Principal was appreciative that I was able to complete the tasks on time and accurate.

Through out my work history, I have been able to maintain and develop my computer skills including learning various computers software programmed inducing Windows and Apple MAC computer.
Just recently I have been able to use my computer skills to learn school software.
In my every day duties as an administrator I use MS Word, Excel, Publisher, outlook, Google, Maps, Spotify (for music).
During my training I have been able to develop my skills on the school software including but not limited to Integris, SIS.
Using SIS allows me to data entry students Enrolments, update information.
A student came into Reception with a medical note asking to go home.
Using SIS I enter student details –Miss Jane Smith.
Once I confirm details, I ring mum and advise that their child isn’t feeling well and would like to go home.
Excel allows the use of creating and easy spreadsheet.
Spreadsheets are great way to create data and check lists.
I recently use this to create a spread sheet for a teacher, they need a simple checklist.
So I open Excel, using SIS I transport the data across to excel.
I create columns – Students name, Paid, Date, Excursion.
Simple but efficient.
Teacher was grateful for quick and easy result.

On a typical day of an School Officer we are required to use our professional communication as we deal directly with Parents, Staff, Students, Visitors, Couriers and Trades personal.
My responsibilities vary on a day-to-day basis, including answering the phone in a professional manner.
A parent called to advise that their student will be getting picked up early for an appointment.
I write down the student’s name and teacher, once I have confirmed the details I would send an email to the teacher advising that the student will need to leave early for an appointment.
Once the parent has arrived to collect the student, I advise that the parent they will need to sign them out, I complete form with student details and advise that give them a copy of the form in case the authorities question why they aren’t at school.
The parent was grateful I was able to assist, and the student was able to get their appointments on time.

Having good communication skills and interpersonal skills allows me to assist in a team environment.
As an individual I am often ask to help out a colleague or the MCS, working in a team environment allows for goals to be completed in a timely and appropriate manner.
Team works also reduces stress amongst colleagues.
A parent came in angry and starting yelling and my colleague was getting visually shaken.
I made sure that my colleague was ok and offer my assistance, together we were able to calm the parent down.
Once the parent had calmed enough, I asked them to explain what happened.
Together we were able to problem solve and find a solution.
With my recent training as a school officer, I have been trained in all areas of Administration assistant I am able to cover at short notice if a staff member is on leave.
A staff member had called in sick, the CSM asked to fill her position for the day.
Even though I knew the basics of the roll I was still able to assist in answering the phones and counter enquires.
As a chauffeur driver I was required to work in a team, a customer had come of the plane and there was no transport arrived for them.
I rang through to the head office and gave the client details.
They had advised that their transport was delayed due to traffic.
I waited with the client for arranged transport.
Once the transport had arrived. I assisted the client and driver.
I help load the luggage into the van.
The client of was grateful I was able to assist and gave me a tip as a thank you for taking the time to assist them.
