Selected achievements

• Implement processes / controls through the growth of a bonds business from quarterly revenue of $19k to $3.2m and assets under administration of $44m to $1.7bn, including set up of revenue recognition and accounting policies and processes for fixed income products, business line reporting, and appropriate compliance.
• Partnering on corporate transactions including investments in associates, issue of debt instruments with attached options, capital raises, acquisition of a wholesale fund.
• Roll out of 2 cloud-based AI tools

• Supported CFO in overseeing completion of financial and management reporting, and compliance with appropriate accounting policies & procedures to ensure robust financial governance, including AFSL requirements.

• Supported Head of Finance in providing end to end Financial Control function for 9 licensed legal entities within BT Financial Group Wealth businesses, covering products including Superannuation, Private Wealth and Financial Advice
• No direct reports, so influencing and negotiating skills were key in this role, and relationship building across Global Shared Services, Operations, Business Unit Finance, Tax, Risk and Legal proved essential, while balancing stakeholder needs
• Quarterly Board reporting, compliance with financial requirements of Australian Financial Services Licences (AFSLs), preparation of annual statutory reporting, and ad hoc Board analysis and reporting
• Support and analysis of legal entity impacts for projects
• Presentation to internal board meetings and supporting Head of Finance in presentations to Tier 1 Board meetings
• Wealth Finance representative at new accounting standards forum implementing AASB9, 15 and 16.

• Managed team of 5 local staff, directly managed, and a service centre team of approximately 10, responsible for reporting to head office and regulators
• Key outputs were monthly Australia/New Zealand group reporting, local APRA regulatory reporting, board reporting and annual financial statements
• Review, validation and control of team outputs, driving resolution of issues, and communicating with stakeholders, largely internal to Finance
• Represented Finance at various company board meetings, the Legal Entity Committee, and quarterly Results Certification to APAC regional Finance management and control teams
