- Delivering pre-start briefings, ensuring employees carry out daily work schedules safely by referring to the Safe Work Method Statements and appropriate track work authorities.
- Comply with Queensland Rail's Code of Conduct on a daily basis.
- Create fortnightly rosters for management approval, adhering to FAID guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Workplace Scheduler to prioritise defects and create 6 weekly Work Schedules.
- Carry out 2 Safety Interactions monthly.
- Carry out HSE Audits - Depot and Construction monthly.
- Conduct monthly HSE Meeting with the team.
- Undertake road patrols and track monitoring within specified timeframes, according to Queensland Rail Civil Engineering Track Standards. This includes reassessing and monitoring of defects utilising SAP and Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) to ensure safe passage of trains.
- Undertake 6 monthly District Hi-rail inspections with Asset Manager (Non Coal).
- Supervise large teams to complete Major and Minor works during track closures.
- Manage resources to successfully carry out maintenance works as per fortnightly schedules i.e. materials, competent labour, plant and vehicles.
- Maintain competency within the maintenance teams through protection officer monitoring, compliance reporting from asset training and other up-skilling, as required.
- Coordinate inventory stock levels ensuring sufficient supplies are available and costed as required.
- Provide SMARTS initiatives to improve workplace safety and increased productivity.
- Manage vehicles ensuring all services, safety inspections and maintenance is undertaken in accordance with Fleet requirements.
- Mentored other staff to obtain their skills to achieve RPL (Recognised Prior Learning) through hands-on training, fostering a culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing within the maintenance team.
