With 34 years of experience in the medical industry as a Field Engineer, I have developed diverse technical expertise in patient monitoring, nuclear medicine, medical imaging, and radiation therapy. Throughout my career, I have built a reputation for establishing strong rapport with customers, gaining their confidence, and ensuring satisfaction. I excel in collaborative environments, seamlessly fitting into teams while also being able to work autonomously. When faced with critical decisions involving significant financial costs for service repairs or installations, I make informed judgments and consult with management to ensure the best outcomes.
After moving to Melbourne, I started with Gamma Gurus, here I look after SXRT devices, CRad Patient monitoring systems interfaced with the Linacs. And continued to work with Nuclear Medicine systems, Dose Calibration systems. I travel as required to Tas, SA,WA,NSW, & Qld as required.
I work from home, and mostly plan my own work as required.
Based at Townsville University Hospital, Oncology Department.
I was one of two Engineers responsible for ongoing maintenance, repairs and upgrades of five Linear Accelerators. While I was there I introduced Instadose BT Radiation badges, saving Elekta both time and money.
I left after 10 months in order to relocate to Melbourne for family and personal reasons.
My service area was Mackay to Cairns and out to Darwin, covering all modalities; CT, MRI, NM, US & X-ray.
I reported to my Service Delivery Manager and kept her up to date on all current and up coming issues, so there were no surprises for anyone.
I was involved with the installation, configuration Dicom Networking, and compliance of these systems, in the first instance.
