Highly driven Student Teacher with proven skills in classroom management and differentiated instruction. My area of academic specialisation is Modern History with a particular interest in South Australian colonial history and social history. I have enjoyed, and excelled in, placements at Nazareth College and St Peters College, demonstrating the ability to balance multiple responsibilities while prioritising student needs and professional responsibilities. While on placement I was able to cultivate positive relationships with students and staff and and adapt lesson plans and structure to meet diverse needs, a skill set that became especially necessary at Nazareth.
One day I would like to work in a position of responsibility at a school with a tradition of excellence and collegiate feeling. For the time being I am relishing the academic opportunities at university and the professional opportunity to build my skills base and meet other teachers.
My second teaching placement was at Nazareth College. This second placement was different because I had to work an additional job during placement meaning it was imperative I manage my own time well in order to balance course work, placement and employment.
I found the experience deeply rewarding and had the opportunity to work with some highly motivated and skilled teachers.
My first teaching placement was at St Peter's, Hackney. I spent most of my time working with year 8 boys and was fortunate enough to be on site during a school athletics carnival where I had the chance to help umpire for the day. Overall this was a deeply rewarding and encouraging experience.

I am a keen reader of history with a particular interest in South Australian social history If time allows I would like to one day complete a PhD in History and write monograph on religious life in colonial South Australia
For recreation I enjoy sailing, cricket in the summer and bushwalking in the winter
