• Technical operation of pusher furnace. Optimisation of slab reheat to various size, steel slab grades. Identify project plate slab chemistry with specific reheat instructions..
• identify and mitigate any potential and active safety issues relating to the furnace and its operation
• Daily inspection of furnace asset, Issue reports to maintenance personnel , Assist in resolving issues in accordance to environmental license requirements. Ceramic hearth/ refractory inspection and monitoring
• Provide technical support and problem solving insight as issues arise, Collaboration with process engineers to improve furnace performance.
• Prioritize maintenance work and resolve problems effectively and efficiently
• Provide training information reviews, updates, and teachings for our operating and maintenance teams
• identify and communicate potential furnace disruptions by working collaboratively with the maintenance and operations teams
• Build effective relationships to drive the continuous reliability of our furnaces
• Monitor and operation of Coke ovens gas system. First responder to alarms indicating unsafe conditions within the furnace area.
• Operation of Water cooled skid system. Montitoring Water system Flow, Skid Temperatures, Physical inspections of Primary and Emergency water systems to ensure safe condition of Asset.
• Experience with Citect and PLC operating systems. Functions including Thermocouple control. Air/Gas/Water Flow, Air/Gas Pressure Control. Famiiliar with GUI operating system.
• Trained in Safe System of work system, Trained Isolation Coordinator.
