  • Approached by General Manager offering me a unique opportunity to utilise my specialised skills in Pressure Care & my vast Hospital experience to implement a Rental Division. With all industry top competitors embracing the rental & delivery service model, it was imperative for the longevity of Novis to enter into this space.
  • Preparing for building a rental model from the ground up, thorough planning, cost analysis reports, infrastructure requirements & supply KPIs all had to be consolidated in a submission to the General Manager for approval.
  • With mandated non-compete clause preventing me from approaching any established key contacts for 12 months, I used the remaining 6 months to approach new business opportunities & work with IT to develop a purpose built asset management ordering portal for hospitals to raise hires, collections, maintenance service requests with monthly invoices produced and automatically populate in an email to the individual wards Accounts Payable contacts.
  • Successfully implemented first Hospital Group Contract for rental of Pressure Preventing Mattress Replacement Systems, seating cushions, heel elevating devices, specialised patient handling lifting & mobility equipment. Mac Health Hospitals. Exceeded the contracted expectations by completing a comprehensive ward by ward/hospital by hospital comprehensive education for ALL staff to learn to use the mattress system including troubleshooting & installing all hospital Nurses Stations and mobile computers with the Novis Online Record Management portal (NORM). All staff trained to use the portal. Completed the negotiated 3 month complete implementation within 10 weeks.
  • Negotiated discounted pricing for 200 capital equipment items for bulk group orders.
  • Leveraged successful implementation of our first contract to then successfully secure rental contracts with:
  • Entire Hunter New England LHD 250 mattresses & 100 cushions on permanent daily consignment.
  • Successfully implemented a Novis wide rental division accessible to all hospitals, residential aged care & excitingly now available for all community outpatients.
  • Developed an Outpatient Discharge Prescription Order Form to provide to Outpatients. Therapists can place the order online prior to the patient's discharge or the client can request the equipment over the phone or by visiting a Novis Showroom.
  • At the time I ended my career with Novis, I established a highly successful rental business that continues to flourish to present day. Annual Rental Revenue at my time of departure was ~$2.8m

  • Awarded Pressure Care Contract with the Children's Hospital Network - Randwick & Westmead
  • Initiated my Personal Development Project to provide a more tailored, supportive solution to effectively manage heel offloading that is ergonomically contoured & comfortable for patients to achieve greater patient compliance. It was my great pleasure to request the Clinical expertise & product testing by Australia's renowned Tracy Nowicki & she enthusiastically participated in the project. Tracy sits on the board of the International Pressure Injury Prevention Board & collaborates with the other board delegates to implement updates to the Guidelines in accordance to latest evidence-based advancements. After 4 prototypes & an 8 week Clinical Trial in the Prince Charles Hospital in QLD. These cushions are now on the NSW State Contract & are widely prescribed within hospitals - The are approved for multi-patient use with full compliance with infection control policies
