PRODUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and Coordination
· Develop and implement production planning to coincide with key flower calendar events such as Mother’s Day, Valentine's Day, Easter Holidays, and Christmas.
· Coordinating with the market department to ensure customer orders and specifications are adhered to.
· Coordinate trials of new Chemicals, Fertilizers, Spray and irrigation techniques
· Coordinate selection and trials of new flower varieties,
2. Production Management
· Overseeing planting and harvesting processes.
· ensure that the farm is kept clean in terms of hygiene requirements and standards by strictly following the guidelines of the hygiene manual.
· ensure collection of data on the traps of the notifiable pests, analysis, and advising the management of the situation.
· Advise and assist the scout team in identifying and managing pests to maintain them below threshold levels.
· Develop weekly spray plans and a year-round spray strategy
· Implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to minimize pest impact on crops
· Coordinate and Advise irrigation team on irrigation recipes and schedules to ensure optimal crop growth
3. Quality Control
· Oversee and monitor quality control mechanism in conformity to the quality manual to ensure production and supply of Quality stems as per client specification.
· Ensure strict adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS) throughout the production process, guaranteeing product quality, safety, and legality.
· Ensure flowers are dispatched in full compliance with customer specifications.
4. Resource Management
· Managing and allocating resources such as labor, materials, and equipment.
· Maintaining inventory of supplies and ensure timely procurement.
5. Compliance and Safety
· Ensure staff adhere to safety protocols in place.
· ensure that the farm uses only approved Plant Protection Products (PPPs) by the Pest control board and products that meet the customer's requirements.
· Provide timely and efficient responses to internal and external audit issues.
· ensure that the farm meets and passes all audit standards such as Fair Trade, MPS Gap, Kenya Flower Council, KEPHIS farm audits, and any other audit that may be requested by the customers
6. Record Keeping and Reporting
- Maintaining accurate records of production activities.

- Staying updated with the latest trends and techniques in floriculture.
- Implementing new technologies and practices to improve production efficiency and quality.
8. Team Management
- Supervising and training staff involved in the production process.
Environmental Management
- Implementing sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact.
- Managing waste and ensuring eco-friendly practices are followed.

· Oversee the packing process to ensure flowers meet customer-specific quality requirements.

Provide timely and efficient responses to internal and external audit issues.
· Promptly report any non-conformance issues to Management that may affect daily packing operations.
· Ensure that Truck departure from the sites - both produce and shipment trucks - are on schedule, communicating/ reporting any variances on time.
· Monitor the utilization of Packaging materials and labels with a bid on reducing/minimizing wastage
· Co-ordinate the maintenance/servicing of all machinery and equipment on-site
· In Collaboration with the Quality Assurance Manager, organize training for staff on relevant codes of practice, standards, and customer requirements.
· Develop, control, and review documentation of all Quality assurance data and internal procedures as necessary.
· Prepare and/ or review job descriptions for QCs & QA supervisors.
