Purpose:

As a result of the dividing of the Australia Division into Direct Insurance and Intermediated Insurance, this role was created to support the EGM of the SME, RACV and CTP portfolios. The role also provides financial support to IMA joint venture between IAG and RACV.


Responsibilities:

· Manage the financial business partnering of the SME, RACV CTP portfolios (Approx $2.6bn of GWP)

· Own the reporting requirements for Executive level reporting (i.e. commentary for Investor report, Board reporting, QPR/MPR inputs, management reporting etc.)

· Manage the budget and forecast process for the Segment, including formulating and influencing financial targets and strategies

· Manage the expense budget for the function (TCE of circa $50m)

· Manage and maintain the IMA relationship including Board level reporting requirements for the entity and ensuring SLA standards are met (IMA includes ~$4.5m of GWP, including RACV)

· Lead a small team (4)


Key achievements:

· Proactively delivered options for growth in the NSW CTP portfolio, taking into account movements in yield curves, regulatory constraints and reinsurance arrangements.

· Involvement in and led finance stream for a number of transactions.

· Improved the relationships between IAG and external party, RACV finance teams, including streamlining SLA process and financial reporting / engagement.

Purpose:

To provide financial support to the key management and decision makers of the NRMA / RACV segment, the largest portfolio within IAG.


Responsibilities:

· Manage the NRMA/RACV and Personal Portfolios P&L reporting and performance analysis (Approx $5bn of GWP)

· Own the reporting requirements for Executive level reporting (i.e. commentary for Investor report, Board reporting, QPR/MPR inputs, management reporting etc.)

· Manage the budget and forecast process for the Segment, including formulating and influencing financial targets and strategies

· Understand the Customer proposition and portfolio strategy (eg Go to Market Strategy) and manage the provision of relevant financial analysis as to the performance

· SME support and guidance to the Digital Finance Strategy

· Manage the expense budget for the Customer Development function (TCE of circa $78m)

· Manage and maintain the IMA relationship including meeting reporting requirements for the entity and ensuring SLA standards are met

Purpose:

Deliver financial reporting and support to the Australian Business Operations and Operational Partnering functions so that the Australian Business can meet its Business Strategy & Operational Effectiveness Goals. The role was also responsible for the introduction of an Analytics function within Finance, which delivered automation and improved insight benefits.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead a large team of professionals from both financial and data / statistical backgrounds (14-15).
  • Group Total Controllable Expense (TCE) reporting that is linked to key financial & non-financial drivers to support planned or potential productivity improvements.
  • Provide expense (TCE) targets for all divisions and enable finance teams to support their key stakeholders to make informed decisions on trade-offs required to achieve their individual and the Group's expense targets.
  • Install and manage consistent fit for purpose project accounting/tracking for all company-wide major initiatives (costs & benefits). Financial support to IAG's major offshore partnering and system consolidation projects
  • Lead the rollout of the Analytics capability within Finance, delivering further reporting automation opportunities and provision of insights via deep dive analysis.
  • SME for IAG's digital finance aspiration by sharing thought leadership and innovative practices (internal and external) and supporting pilots and implementation.


Key achievements:

· Significantly improved the Controllable Cost target setting and roll forward analysis for the Group. Delivered efficiencies and improved insights.

· Developed new consolidated Group Project reporting, including benefit tracking frameworks.

· Built and introduced new Tableau dashboards to enable automated reporting of Controllable Costs and Employee movements.

Financial Accounting Manager

Purpose:

Leading a large team located in both Australia and Singapore, this role is responsible for the financial accounting functions of the majority of IAG's Australian licensed underwriting companies as well as the reinsurance division.


Responsibilities:

· Lead and mentor a team of people managers and qualified accountants in Australia and Singapore.

· Manage monthly financial accounting processes for IAL, IMA and WES companies (three of IAG's largest licensed underwriting companies) and the reinsurance division.

· Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss variance commentary

· Manage the APRA (Australia) and MAS (Singapore) Return processes for the reinsurance division.

· Establish and implement accounting requirements for new IAG ventures and divisions (insurance and non-insurance).

· Input into and review of yearly IAG Group statutory accounts.


Key achievements:

· Significantly improved efficiency of month end processes. Reduced processing times and created capacity within the team.

· Improved the level of analysis and insights on monthly results

· Established new y-o-y Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss analysis

Financial Controller – Wesfarmers Insurance

Purpose:

Secondment position. As a result of IAG's acquisition of WES' insurance operations and the departure of a number of senior staff, this role was required to lead WES' finance function through the transformation and integration process until such time the department could be closed down. The role reported into WES' insurance division CFO.


Responsibilities:

· Manage monthly reporting cycle.

· Manage finance operations and associated staff – financial accounting, management accounting, accounts payable and banking.

· Alignment and integration with IAG structure and accounting framework.

· Lead a large team (10-12)


Key achievements:

· Improved processes and outputs, which enabled greater consistency and understanding of results.

· Successfully led finance team through major restructure, which resulted in an extremely high success rate of employees securing roles at IAG.

· Established multiple networks between WES and IAG to ensure information flows were effective.

· Successfully integrated WES' finance functions into IAG systems and frameworks.

The role supports the development and implementation of IAG's investor relations strategy and assists in ensuring that all information provided to the market is in keeping with IAG's continuous disclosure requirements. The role is external facing and has significant executive level exposure.

· Input into all external communication materials.

· Preparation of Q&A document for all external communications, including half yearly results, acquisitions and divisional briefings.

· Created the investor relations weekly report, which keeps executives and key management personnel informed about what has happened and about to happen in the market and what interaction IAG has had or about to have with the market.

· Established models / summaries for broker consensus of key competitors and market statistics for IAG's various Asian markets.

· Improved the depth of Q&A for results and other market announcements. This enabled management to be better prepared on the announcement day and in subsequent meetings with analysts and investors.

Senior Financial Accountant

Purpose:

Initially responsible for all financial accounting functions of Mobius Financial Services, which specialized in securitization of low doc mortgages. Upon the closure of Mobius, the role became responsible for all the accounting functions, including unit pricing calculations of the new off balance sheet Allco aviation funds. The role played a key support function to the Finance Directors of both Allco Wholesale Funding and Allco Aviation.


Responsibilities – Allco Wholesale Funding:

· Preparation of monthly management accounts for Mobius and the trusts

· Checked and approved all distributions from the various trusts

· Managed a small team

· IFRS implementation

· Preparation of all formal statutory accounts and key contact for external auditors

Responsibilities – Allco Aviation Fund:
