Employed initially as the Project Manager overseeing the construction of large flat bottom silos for the on-site storage of grains. This role included the managing of our clients earthworks to ensure sufficiently constructed pads for the silo construction, ordering and scheduling of reo and mesh for the concrete pad to be on site as well as our required formwork. I was also in charge of the scheduling of our numerous field crews for the concrete base and silo construction, quite often managing up to 5 crews over various parts of Australia. During this period I spent a lot of time on site learning the technique of correct installation procedures as well as trouble shooting any future issues that may arise so as to be able to guide clients through these problems.
Over a period of time I also evolved into the role of Victorian salesman for our flat bottom silo range and began to create a great report with my clients. This role required me to site visit with potential clients, discuss their current and future on farm storage needs and advise them of our range of options available as well as completing budgets and quotes for these clients.
Successful family operated business. Increase in occupancy from 25% to 60%. Many repeat guests and a solid reputation within the accommodation industry. Role included administration, employee management, general maintenance of buildings and grounds, restaurant/bar operations, attending to guests requirements and all daily duties involved in running a motel.
Employed as a sheet metal laborer by Maurice Jaeschke, I was able to work my way up in the business to become the Production Manager. I held this position as the business changed hands to the Ahrens Group and helped oversee the transition of the new company. I maintained this position until November 2015.
My role included overseeing the running of the workshop in the production of grain storage equipment, delivery and set up of oversize loads, setting up and implementing Work Orders, management of up to fifty staff members, quality control of finished products, forklift operation, supply ordering and stock-take, entering of daily job sheets for all employees as well as sales and quoting.
During my time with this company, I also attained my Heavy Combination License, Pilot Vehicle and Traffic Control License, Perform High Risk Work (Forklift and Elevated Work Platform) License, First Aid Certificate and several Occupational Health and Safety Certificates.
