Work History

Team Leader

Woolworths PRDC
04.2010 - Current

I have worked as a Team Leader at Primary Connect Woolworth's Perth Regional Distribution Centre for over 15 years, and I am currently seconded to the TC Shift Operations Manager role. Throughout my tenure, I have gained extensive experience in all operational areas, including leading teams across various shifts and chambers, and managing operations, receiving, dispatch, and inventory.

My responsibilities have included maintaining Cost and DCP for our Fresh Produce operation, setting performance expectations for my team, monitoring progress, and providing constructive feedback. I have also achieved a proven positive increase in VOT results over the last nine months in the SOM role for TC.

Furthermore, I actively ensure I assist in creating a safer work environment, and promote a safety-first culture through continuous coaching and support for staff. Conducting iLeads and participating in iCAM investigations when required.Attending monthly safety meetings, addressing team members/ HSR questions or concerns.

I am adept at managing conflict resolution to foster positive and collaborative work environments, and I have consistently maintained an inclusive and diverse team culture that promotes respect and understanding. I have collaborated with other department leaders to establish shared goals and enhance team productivity by implementing efficient work processes.

I have a strong track record of evaluating team member performance against established objectives during reviews, recognising achievements, and identifying areas for development. I actively promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback from all organisational levels and implementing actionable changes.

Transport Manager

Metcash Foodlink
03.2007 - 04.2010
  • In March 2007 I transferred from IGAD to its sister company Foodlink and promoted to the position of Transport Manager for this Total Food Logistics organisation. I have a fleet of 26 multi temperature vehicles and drivers that I co-ordinate on a daily basis to deliver to our 2500 regular customers. These deliveries cover all of Western Australia and some over seas. I oversee and organise the coordination of delivery routs for our daily metropolitan deliveries and resolve any problems or complaints should they arise. I am responsible for all drivers training and compliance to government standards, fatigue management OH&S and SOP’s. All issues in regards to our fleet are my responsibility, from servicing, maintenance and ensuring the vehicles conform to the standards for food transportation and HACCP accreditation. I manage the driver’s wages and overtime ensuring we meet our targets and the overall performance of our bottom line. I implement new procedures as needed to assist our drivers, customers and company, so we can provide a safe and productive environment, service and workplace.

Warehouse Supervisor

Metcash IGA>D
02.2006 - 03.2007
  • Management approached me to apply for this position in February 2006. Starting out as Afternoon Shift Supervisor, I was responsible for ensuring all aspects of the warehouse during my shift ran to plan, benchmarks were achieved, staff were achieving their performance levels, OH&S was adhered to, dealing with customer complaints/problems, assisting in the group effort to meet out KPI’s and the affect on our bottom line.
  • I then moved to Assembly Supervisor. During the implementation of Metcash systems I was given the responsibility of training all staff on the Vocollect System (voice pick). This involved creating voice templates for all staff, training on the T2 voice pick units hardware and picking procedure. Also all maintenance issues for the units hardware and software.
  • In October 2006 I received the CEO Appreciation Award in recognition of exceptional effort and commitment to the company.
  • I was then transferred to Despatch Supervisor. I ensured all loads were despatched complete and to schedule, dealing with customer complaints and the coordination of loads. I managed a team of 21 staff that I was directly accountable for, in maintaining a 100 % performance level, meeting our KPI’s and the affect on our bottom line.

Leading Hand

FAL
01.2003 - 01.2006
  • While starting out with FAL as a picker/packer in Feb 2005 I became a leading hand for the main warehouse. As I was one of only 3 leading hands on afternoon shift. I was able to gain a vast knowledge of all the different areas, from despatch to receivals, repack and assembly. The knowledge I gained from overseeing the operation of all these sections allowed me to advance in job responsibilities in a short period of time.
