Steel/aluminium fabrication and repair of caravans, stock trailers and car trailers
Assist with steel and wood fabrication on house renovations, decks, pergolas, colourbond/wooden fences and landscaping.
General Duties Policing within the Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command and Lock Up Keeper of Maclean Police Station for 4 years.
Fabrication/welding of structural steel, general fabrication, aluminium fabrication/welding and stainless steel fabrication/welding. During my time here I used MIG, TIG and MMA welding procedures. I also, used/operated folding machine, guillotines, overhead travelling cranes and forklifts whilst at this postion.
Fabrication and welding on major components for the Omega 22-48 heavy forklifts. Fabrication of these components required the use of high tensile welding consumables, alloy steels and adherence to welding procedures. It also, required to me to use and operate overhead travelling cranes, forklifts, sandblasting and shotblasting equipment.
On call retained NSW Fire man with Wyong Fire Station, NSW. At the time I was working evening shifts at Clark Equipment, so I only attended the daytime call outs. I only held this position for 6 months, due to a break up with my then girlfriend and having to move away.
Initially, I did my apprenticeship at HMAS Nirimba, before being posted to Fleet Maintenance, where I mostly performed maintenance on different ships. Over my career I spent a number of postings here. I commenced Phase 1 and 2 of submarine training and started phase 3 onboard HMAS Orion. This however, wasn't for me and I was then posted to HMAS Perth, Guided Missile Destroyer. Whilst posted there I preformed duties in workshop/maintenance roles to watch keeping duties on steam boilers in the boiler room and other machinery in the engine room.
I was also a member of the ships fire fighting team and was trained to use and maintain twin canister (OCCABA) breathing apparatuses.
