  • Managing opening and set up of warehouse prior to commencement of each day’s work
  • This included ensuring that all necessary gates and roller doors were open, and that access was clear to shipping and receiving area, all necessary lights switched on and logging into dispatch computers
  • After Canson made the decision to sell the factory, I was also responsible for liaison with the contractors engaged to ‘make good’ the factory premises, and this meant starting earlier to open the factory and facilitate the access they needed
  • Equipment Use and Maintenance
  • Ensuring all OH&S practices were adhered to when operating factory equipment and handling stock
  • This included reporting and managing issues and completing relevant paperwork such as risk and safety assessments and incident reports
  • Conduct safety checks on forklifts and scheduling maintenance for all distribution center equipment such as forklifts and wrapping machines
  • Managing gas supplies for the forklift by monitoring current levels and ordering new supplies to make sure we didn’t run out
