Summary

Seasoned Carpenter with a proven track record of enhancing customer satisfaction and strengthening company reputation. Bit slow to start in the morning, take off like a cut snake after a coffee. Successfully led teams to exceed client expectations through meticulous attention to detail and innovative carpentry solutions - Generated that part with AI and thought it sounded quite cool - Have been apart of delivering some beautiful things that I have taken great pleasure in showing my mother. Made plenty of mistakes, not many of them twice. I enjoy the process of solving problem's and very comfortable in high stress situations.

Can appreciate all things creative and enjoy creating my own furniture and projects, love architecture, intrigued by certain engineering, can appreciate sculpture art and all the good stuff. Not one to spend a lot of time away from my dog, enjoy living a healthy active lifestyle. Excited to visit the new opportunities here in the Gold Coast

Im currently in a position where i am looking to take up a role here in the Goldcoast where I can learn new skills and processes, I am some one who needs continuous growth so if a company can provide that for me I would take any new learnings with open arms

Skills I am interested in gaining more experience with - estimating, quantity surveying and any systems that make the construction process more efficient. I am not a tech wizard by any means so I'd love to get better with technology especially as AI systems start integrating into the back end of the build process.

Im turning a new chapter in my life looking to slow down a bit and gain a bit more stability with a healthy work life balance to be able to focus on some personal goals I would like to achieve, the hair on my head is starting to run away so need to look at creating a family for myself before the woman start running away too.

Work History

Business Owner

Build Buddy
08.2023 - Current
  • Providing labour and custom build projects for clients in Auckland
  • All works are sub contracted out to reliable contractors I have built relationships with over the years
  • We are currently in the commercial fit-out space assisting in the delivery of short term projects from custom build's through to complete renovations

Business Owner

Offsite Group
03.2023 - 08.2023
  • From past business experiences i seen an opportunity in the commercial space and had the right network of people around me at the time and together we incorporated Offsite group
  • The structure of the business was essentially consulting where i covered the full business operation from consult or referral through clients I bought in where my business partner managed the financial side allowing me to solely focus on the business growth/operations and maintenance of relationships I grew over the years
  • In the short term of 5 months I ran the business I grew it from nothing to turning over an average of 25-30k per week
  • We operated with contractors only, where I did the project management to ensure on site delivery was to schedule and in conjunction with contracts, assisting each trade under our umbrella where needed
  • My approach to each project is to ensure I was always there, answering my phone at any time, keeping the boys on track and in good spirit. If boys had to work overtime to deliver something for me to ensure i kept to my contract, I made sure I was there helping where I could - I had a wack at plastering one night and created more work for all of us but we got there in the end - Not good at plastering.

Business Owner

Dallas George Construction
03.2021 - 03.2023
    • Established strong customer relationships through referrals
    • Delivered multiple renovations across Auckland learning the skills as i went from the initial consult - planning, pricing, scheduling, variations, delivery and then maintenance after completion to ensure the product is what was paid for
    • The first 3 projects I lost money due to not understanding the importance of contracts and detailing scope of work, adjusting and ensuring I covered myself moving forward
    • I worked everyday for the duration of this period, burning myself out 3 times learning the hard way the importance of having someone that specializes in specific roles instead of trying to do them all

Carpenter

Addspace Construction
03.2021 - 10.2021

  • The tasks as a carpenter started ensuring the structure was as per the plans making sure there were no implications later if there were any issues in the structure, over seeing the set-out and internal framing, installing internal doors, trims, window reveals/linings, creating timber thresholds and installing the exterior doors to follow, soffit framing and lining, timber strapping to walls where kitchens were to be later installed ensuring fixing in place for services, overseeing the install of wall linings and working in with sub trades to ensure where inter tenancy walls and junctions that required fire rated systems were installed correctly inconjunction with the internal framing

Finish Carpenter

03.2016 - 03.2018
  • Working across multiple high end apartment builds

  • A notable project I was very proud to be apart of was the Kauri cliff villas where I was fortunate to work alongside some very seasoned carpenters who taught me a lot of different skills and methods where they then took enough trust in my skill set to rely on me to deliver parts of the project
