Flight Operations Manager /Airline Pilot

As a Flight Operations Manager I am accountable for the monitoring and maintenance of line operational standards, management and welfare of flight crews based in his/her base(s) and general staff discipline.


Additionally, as a Flight Operations Manager I am responsible for communicating front line issues to senior management with a view to quick resolution as well as supporting procedural and policy changes.


Specifically, I am responsible for the following:


  • Ensure safe and efficient daily line operations of pilots in accordance with all regulatory requirements and company procedures manuals and public expectations.
  • The provision of cost effective, high quality flight services to Rex customers in support of commercial objectives without compromising safety or regulatory compliance.
  • Investigation of any reported occurrences, accidents and/or incidents as required.
  • Ensure the welfare and discipline of base pilots in conjunction with management.
  • Liaise with local Airport Managers, Flight Attendant Line Supervisors and Engineering staff as necessary to ensure safe, efficient and smooth line operations.
  • Liaise via the Fleet Managers with outside agencies on matters relevant to company line operations including airport authorities, and government regulators.
  • Participation in the selection, recruitment and induction of new aircrew.
  • The monitoring and maintenance of high standards of grooming, personal presentation and customer service amongst base pilots.
  • Assist in the collection and distribution of information necessary to air crew for line operations.
  • Assist trainers with the provision and maintenance of base training facilities and equipment as required.
  • Assist with internal and external audits of line operations where required.
  • Assist with the provision of weather information, flight crew briefing material and flight planning information.
