  • Over the 11 1/2 years at Vestas I have been involved in everything from construction of wind turbines through to CIM servicing, replacement an repair in all facets of the turbines, through to major component replacement such as drive trains, gear boxes, generators, blades, pitch rams, transformers and tower cables.
  • I have ran and been the lead many times on all prelisted activities. I've worked away from my base of Macarthur for Vestas on other platforms on construction commissioning CIM maintenance and repair component change outs and tower flange bolt replacement, after finding bolts that had moved. I have provided these services on behalf of vestas at the Coonera Bridge Windfarm, Vic, Kyatta Windfarms, Vic, 3 months continous at the Salt Creek Windfarm at constrtuction, Diaper Windfarm, Vic, Sapphire Windfarm, NSW, Mt Emerald Widnfarm,QLD, Hewitton Windfarm, QLD. I have a great knowledge base of the V112 platform and know the history of service maintenance and repair back from construction. I hold the necessary licencing and tickets from GWO, HV, Low voltage rescue, confined space, manually handling, First Aid and CPR, are all current and in date.

I have very high and extended knowledge of the V112 Platform and have a great amount of knowledge when it comes to diagnosing faults when turbines go into alarm. This knowledge is relied on heavily by our service tech team at Macarthur and I have a very high standard of avoiding turbines not in production with my trouble shooting knowledge of the V112.

  • At Sobey's I was the leading hand supervisor, fitter and turner, rigger / dogman, designing and manufacturing parts and equipment, heavy indstry service maintanence and repair at Portland Aluminium Smelter and Incetic Pivot service company.
  • Applied knowledge of both standard and metric measurements and performed math associated with pipe installation, adapting items manufactured within different systems of measurement.
  • Followed safe work practices, which included fall protection and personal protective equipment.
  • Threaded pipes using piping machines.
  • Laid out, positioned, aligned and secured parts for welding and bolt-up.
  • Fabricated, assembled, installed and maintained piping systems.
  • Identified equipment and production non-compliance issues and notified foreman to facilitate resolution.
  • Fabricated and installed screw pipe, socket weld pipe, and stainless steel tubing.
  • Measured, marked, cut, bored, fitted and installed various piping or structural components in accordance with blueprints and job specifications using hand and power tools.

  • Performed pneumatic and hydrostatic testing of systems and modified, repaired or expanded upon existing systems based on thorough understand of working mechanics.

  • I was the leading hand/ supervisor of the overhead crane maintenance for Portland Aluminium Smelter. This included the periodic servicing maintenance and repair of all areas of the smelter and from 10 tonne to 100 tonne overhead cranes and all pot tending multi-tool pot cranes and as a fitter and turner and rigging and dogman.

In 2000 John Beever sold his business to ECL Cranes in a transfer of business.
