My name is Damien Ross Schmidt. I am 20 years old and graduated at Kapunda High School in 2023. My passion outside of work and academics is playing soccer. I played goalkeeper in the 2023 season for Barossa United. In 2022 I played for Playford, and our team finished the season top of the ladder. In 2024 I played at Tea Tree Gully with my mates. In 2022 I studied English, Mathematics, Science, History, Health & Physical Education, Legal Studies, Geography & Advisory. I also attended TAFE 1 day/week and achieved the Cert II in Hairdressing. I studied at TAFE for a Cert III in Barbering. I became qualified and worked as a qualified barber at Barossa Babylon Barber. Additionally in 2019, I completed 1 year of air force cadets at the Gawler Air base. My long-term career goal is to open a branch of barber shops over the years, so because of this, I am working hard towards saving up, getting a decent job and career line. I realise that some years of life experience will be beneficial to eventually creating my own business, so I will be continuing to work hard in whatever way possible. I also enjoy working extra hours out of my job in order to gain more independence, and increase my skills and awareness of the workforce. Because of this, I currently work my own at-home barber business and hope to increase the popularity of it as a second physical income opportunity. My main goal is to expand my skills and experience further and feel that a small business will provide that for me.
