- I worked as a Highway Construction Engineer for Outer Circular Elevated Highway (OCH –NS-1) to City of Colombo section comprises of 8.9 km 4 lane access-controlled expressway, two interchanges with toll facilities, multi span reinforced/post tensioned 5.5 km length of Viaducts and 28 numbers of reinforced concrete single span bridge type under passes, reinforced concrete two span overpass bridges, reinforced concrete box drainage structures, earth retaining structures, Bored pile foundation and testing, raft foundations, Structural Mass concrete – Reinforcements fabrication, form work, concrete placing, testing, thermal control and curing, soft ground improvements, and bulk earth works
- Key Responsibilities: Construction Supervisions of all the structures and other construction activities by giving necessary guidance to the Site Engineers and Technical officers
- Undertaking temporary road and drainage designs to facilitate construction staging
- Engaged in design and detailing of temporary drainage aspects and associated flow estimation using Rational method
- Derived sizes of temporary culverts using culvert charts and Culvert Master Software
- I introduced and applied new innovative concept of floating wetland units to improve the water quality of stagnate water ponds and canals
- Reviewing and recommending approval of working drawings
- I identified pipe culvert openings where severe erosion and scour occurred at base slabs and provided random rubble cascades at end of slops to mitigate the issue
