Hey Team, I am a qualified builder/carpenter from New Zealand. I moved to Perth in August 2024 where I started building for a company in Malaga building Modular Homes. Unfortunately I was made redundant due to a downturn in work so am looking to get back into some work asap.

I have been qualified since October 2023 and have been in the industry since 2017. I have knowledge in many aspects of building and look forward to learning more as I apply my skills in a different country.

During my time working in New Zealand, I was fortunate enough to work on many different projects. The company I worked for mostly built large architectural residential homes but also did renovations. While mostly using timber products in New Zealand, I have experience using steel frame from working in Australia. I had the opportunity to run sites and look after apprentices as well. Earning my certificate in carpentry has enabled me to learn many different skills which I hope to put good measure over here.

Framing works- timber/steel frame

Roof works- truces, purlins, sheeting

Flashing works-some knowledge from Australia work

Finishing works- Skirting,Architraves

Set out- Marking out sites, frames on slabs

Subfloor works-Timber joists/bearers

Exterior Cladding- Timber, fibre cement, linear

Interior linings- Gib rock, plywood

Concrete- Small pads, pathways, formwork

Decking works

Read and interpret plans

Door hardware

1st fix and 2nd fix works while in Australia

I have my own set of tools I have brought with me from New Zealand and am happy to get more tools if required to help with my work
