I started Tile Safe because there was a niche market in floor compliance in the commercial space. I studied The Australian Standard AS 4586 and completed NATA accredited courses in safety compliance and reporting. Tile Safe worked in many areas from Schools, Public buildings, recreational reserves and office buildings.

Own Company

• I started MJ Garden Restoration and Landscapes which focused on large commercial installations and maintenance. I designed and created the entire gardens at Elanora Nursing home in Brighton, including automated irrigation system over an 8 month period. We then maintained the entire site to an exceptionally high standard required.
• We installed and maintained the gardens at Warrandyte Gardens nursing home and The Business Park at 300 Wellington rd Waverley to name a few.
• We also maintained many private residential homes from Sandringham to Brighton with a very strong focus on quality and customer service.

Apprenticeship

I worked under John Wearne who specialized in high end residential properties. John taught me how to design a new garden and gave me the skills needed to pave, build retaining walls, water features, irrigation, turf and plant a complete garden from a drawing. John also taught me how to properly maintain a garden throughout the seasons and inspired me to form my own company MJ Garden Restoration and Landscapes.

Apprenticeship

I began my first apprenticeship as a Maintenance Fitter and Turner in a large factory that made aluminium cans from the beginning to the end. The company supplied 80% of all aluminium cans used in Australia. My apprenticeship focused on maintaining of all machinery and limiting any down time through preventive works. I learnt great skills in time management, maintenance scheduling, welding, steel fabrication and machining on a Lathe.
