• In the year 2000, I designed and built a complex 5-axis filament winding machine, the only machine in Australia that had the capacity to fully wind an FRP vessel from 3 m in diameter to 9 m long, using a CAD/CAM program called FiberGrafiX; we integrated the software into the motion control system
• In 2007, I designed and built a 3-axis filament winding machine designed to handle 5 m diameter mandrels up to 12 m long, with custom-designed software for ease of operator use
• 2009, designed and built an automated fiberglass conveyor spraying line, set up to produce 24 parts per cycle, the system used a modified CMA spraying robot integrated into a custom conveyor system
• In 2010, I designed and built two off seven-axis filament winding machines designed to wind pressure vessels up to two meters in diameter and three point five meters long. I used a Kawasaki ZX165 robot integrated into the spindle, while the other winder used a Fanuc robot with a four point five meter traverse
• In 2010, I designed the FRP Ecomax pump station; it was designed to compete with the poly pump station market and is now the most produced FRP pit in Australia
• 2013, implementation of lean manufacturing, by changing processes and molding, we reduced manufacturing and assembling time for the stormwater products by 50%
• 2016 - 2021, designed and built a number of PLC-controlled systems using Unitronics and Allen-Bradley PLC systems such as
• Several pressure booster systems integrating pump VSDs and PID control loops
• Automatic tanker wash system, pre-rinse, caustic wash, acid wash, and final rinse; this was a turnkey system with complex programming using the Unitronics Unistream PLC platform
• Sulfuric acid dilution system, sulfuric acid is exothermic when adding water, the system would take 98% sulfuric and automatically pump the correct volume to maintain the correct operating temperature, this was done using a number of PID loops controlling the cooling and dosing pumps, protecting the system from overheating, we used the Unitronics Unistream PLC platform
