Enrolled Nurse with experience in acute care settings, committed to providing safe, patient-centre care and continuously developing clinical knowledge and professional capability. I demonstrate strong foundations in postoperative monitoring, wound management, intravenous medication administration, and clinical prioritisation. A reliable and adaptable team member who collaborates effectively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred care outcomes in fast-paced healthcare environments.
Currently working on a surgical ward specialising in urology and gynaecology, providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care to patients undergoing elective and emergency procedures. In my role as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, I perform thorough clinical observations and postoperative monitoring, with prompt recognition and escalation of deterioration. I deliver high-quality wound care and surgical site management in accordance with best practice and infection control standards, administer intravenous medications within scope of practice and hospital policy, and assess and support effective pain management to optimise patient comfort during recovery. My experience includes specialised postoperative urological and gynaecological care, including insertion and removal of indwelling urinary catheters, conversion to leg bags with associated patient education, monitoring urinary output, supporting trial of voids, management of continuous bladder irrigation, and removal of surgical drains in accordance with care plans. I work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team alongside allied health professionals, maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, provide effective clinical handover to the supervising Registered Nurse, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced acute surgical environment.
