Thank you for taking the time to look at my resume. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself in more detail.
The vast majority of my working life was spent with Alpha Rigging Service. This was a business I co-owned from the age of 23 with my then husband. I worked in the business full time, growing it from a little operation in a small shed with just ourselves, to a multi million dollar company servicing the Oil/Gas/Offshore/Power Industries and Government Agencies. I was responsible for all aspects of the business including; all debtor and creditor activities including BAS preparation and lodgement, calender management and all administration, preparation and compliance with budgets, internal and external auditing, all staff recruitment and HR, annual reviews, management and training of staff, quality assurance, industry compliance and HSE, quoting, purchasing, report preparation and release of accredited testing documentation to clients.
After leaving that business, I invested into Denim & White Boutique, as the existing owner needed assistance to get the business out of financial difficulty. I love a challenge, and there was a big hole after leaving Alpha. I felt my 17 years of skills could be used in a different industry. I also enrolled at University during this time to complete a Bachelor of Nursing/Paramedicine degree. Unfortunately, COVID had different ideas about where my future would go and I was unable to continue my studies due to mandates introduced. In addition, the business was unable to sustain so many forced to shut downs, and the difficult decision was made to close it.
I started my role with Melbourne Maintenance Air Conditioning in July 2022, based from my home office. My eldest daughter became ill in April of that same year, and after 9 months of trying to juggle her medical appointments and school absences, I had to cease employment to focus on her. During this time I enrolled to complete my Cert III and IV Personal Training, and am in line to finish this by April this year.
I am now in a position where I want get back into the workforce and am excited to put my skills and thirst for learning into action again. My children are of an age where they are independent, so this is achievable without compromising my employment or my kids needs.
As a previous business owner, I am very conscious of the challenges that can come with employing mothers. I am confident that I am now able to fully commit to employment once again and would welcome the opportunity to combine my two loves of business and fitness, and become a part of your team.
