- Canterbury Road Easing Sydney’s Congestion Program ($10m).
- Downer were engaged by the Easing Sydney’s Congestion branch of TNSW to undertake the upgrade of two pinch point intersections, between Canterbury Road & New Canterbury Road and Canterbury Road & Bexley Road. The upgrade included the relocation of sewer, water, HV, LV and comms infrastructure as well as stormwater drainage to facilitate the widening of both intersections which in turn improved traffic flow. Downer also installed new ITS infrastructure at both intersections.
- The project was a mixture of self perform and subcontracted works, which Darren supervised as the senior supervisor on the project. Darren managed the crews of workers, the subcontractors and direct staff (other supervisors and leading hands) during the construction works.

- Mona Vale Road, Terry Hills Upgrade $8-$10M.
- Downer was engaged by DM Roads to undertake the upgrade of Mona Vale Road and Forest Way intersection in Terrey Hills. The works formed part of the Easing Sydney’s Congestion program of works falling under TNSW, with DM Roads engaged as the Principal Contractor, who in turn engaged Downer EDI to complete the full scope of works. The works included the widening of Forest Way over approximately 500m leading up to the intersection with Mona Vale Road, the widening of Mona Vale Road westbound and the extension of the right turn lane into Forest Way on Mona Vale Road Eastbound.
- As part of the scope of works and in addition to the earthworks and pavement works, Downer had to relocate a large number of live services, namely: LV, HV, water and sewer mains and comms lines (both overhead and underground). There was also the integration of new ITS infrastructure at a busy intersection of Mona Vale Road and Forest Way as well as a smaller business park intersection. During the works, there was incredibly heavy traffic especially during peak hours and the staging of each corner of the major intersection was critical to the success of the project which Darren managed alongside the Project Manager to bring the project in under budget and on time.
- Darren supervised subcontractors and direct staff during the construction works. He managed the concrete pavement works and undertook weekly programming to ensure that scope was resourced to meet program.

- Pacifico is an Acciona Ferrovial Joint Venture (JV) established to deliver the Warrell Creek to Nambucca Heads (WC2NH) section of the Pacific Highway upgrade on the Mid-North Coast of NSW. The scope included the design and construction of 19.5km of new dual carriageway road.

- The project involved the upgrade of a major four lane highway to a six-lane motorway with the capacity to further increase to eight lanes in the future, thereby supporting current transport needs while allowing for anticipated growth in the region.
