I did the first laparoscopic hernioplasty (7), laparoscopic duodenal perforation repair (5). I increased the rate of diagnostic laparoscopy and laparoscopic ectopic pregnancy excision in conjunction with Ob/gynae dept.

• Over a span of 5 years, I conducted more than 2500 surgical procedures, comprising over 750 diverse major operations encompassing both open and laparoscopic abdominal procedures, addressing traumatic and non-traumatic conditions. These interventions resulted in minimal complications and significantly enhanced the lives of my patients.

My primary place of the assignment was Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital (now, the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital). I was nominated to be the chairman of the Health and Welfare Committee. I organized and delivered public lectures on Health education, personal hygiene, and environmental sanitation. My committee went on weekly campaigns on health matters to various government offices, council headquarters, etc. We also executed a massive campaign on HIV ERADICATION at marketplaces. We went on hospital visitations, especially the children’s and women’s wards. We also organized and carried out polio vaccination programs in nearby villages. I persuaded and got at least thirteen corps members to freely donate their blood to potential accident victims in partnership with the Save Accident Victims Association of Nigeria (SAVAN) and St. Mary’s Hospital, Gwagwalada.
  I was retained for 1 year following a meritorious service. I continued to work as a Medical Officer in the General Surgery department running clinics, ward rounds, and operation theatres with the consultant surgeon. I left in
  November 2002 to start a residency program in Jos University Teaching Hospital.
