AHSA Web Application Modules (AWASM) - Lead Developer/Architect
Developed a suite of generalised services, controllers, views, ASP.NET pages and controls from the ground up, to prevent the need for repeated development of common tasks. Shortened development time, delivered more fully featured, robust and cohesive systems and performance benefits. Modules configured via XML configuration for searching, editing, security, change tracking, running long processes asynchronously, exporting sets of files and uploading files.
Prosthesis Management System (PMS) - Documentation and Data-modelling
Gathered requirements, created a detailed specification and created the data model for the Prosthesis Management System (PMS). The specification and data model was then used by another developer to assist in the development of the system.
Private Hospital Price Index (PHPI) Reports System – Lead Developer
Designed to provide a benchmark similar to the Wage Cost Index, the PHPI was a health based measure used by AHSA to measure the success of negotiations with hospitals (i.e. how much increase was given verses the perceived increase in costs). This was formulated using many measures obtained from various sources which were collated and then calculated to result in a PHPI figure for each state and facility type.
A SQL Server back end was used with MS Access data project front end as there was only a single user doing the entry this seemed like the quickest way to achieve the desired result. A suite of Cognos Report Studio reports were also developed which allowed the viewing of the results including some interactive reports written in ASP.NET that would allow negotiators to do “what if” modelling and see the result.
AHSA Website Integration - Developer
Many services offered by AHSA to our member funds were exposed via the secure section of the AHSA website. This meant that integration of security was required as well as making the services sit well within the commercial product Zeevo which we had chosen as our new website CMS.
The AHSA website project included the development of many services including a Doctor Search, Hospital Search, Hospital Contract Search as well as much plumbing to ensure that security context was able to be passed between the PHP based CMS and the ASP.NET based services developed in house. A token authentication web service was created to facilitate this.
AHSA SQL ORM - LEAD Developer/Architect
A complete functional and efficient ORM framework built from the ground up for use with MS SQL Server this library allowed the generation of full data access objects complete with persistence, lazy loading, caching of lookup tables, templating and full stored procedure access.
