Condition Monitoring and Reliability Technician

  • Working in the reliability department as a condition monitoring technician
  • I have been able to work independently in developing a condition monitoring program with a focus on predictive maintenance
  • Some of key duties include: Managing all condition monitoring databases and providing condition reports and escalating plant conditions
  • Liasing with maintenance and planning departments to schedule required works
  • Collecting and analyzing vibration data of all critical equipment site wide using Emerson analyzer 2140 and Machinery Health Management

  • Working as a mechanical fitter in High-Pressure Acid Leach and Hydromet departments of the processing plant
  • In this role some of my key duties include: Maintaining, repairing, refurbishing and diagnostics of running equipment including various makes of pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and conveyors

  • At Camco Engineering I worked in the Fixed Plant Overhaul division of the company as a fitter machinist
  • During my time at Camco I had extensive experience in overhauling and testing an extensive range of industrial gearboxes, pumps, bogie assemblies, fluid coupling, blowers, valves, glandless motor pumps, Warman barrels, hydraulic wheel locks and wheel grippers, Hitatchi excavator track frames and center frames and various other fixed plant equipment
  • My key duties included: dismantling and assessing various fixed plant equipment, providing detailed strip and build reports of overhauled equipment, diagnosing faults and providing failure analysis reports, determining work and components required for refurbishment, precision measuring and machining of components, assembling various fixed plant equipment including fitting bearings, seals, gears, setting floats, backlash and gear contacts, acceptance testing refurbished gearboxes and other rotating equipment with vibration analysis, collecting and interpreting data using Emerson 2140 machinery health analyzer.

  • Whilst at Enzed, my key duties included: liaising with our suppliers in order to source equipment for customers, building and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers, invoicing and managing accounts, having a strong understanding of our products to supply and service my customers, hydraulic diagnostics and maintenance on a range of mobile and fixed plant and equipment, making, servicing, and fitting hydraulic hoses, re-sealing and repairing hydraulic rams, general workshop machining, silver soldering, pipe bending and welding, maintaining and stock take of my service vehicle.

  • ASC – Fitter Machinist: Throughout my employment at ASC I worked in the water system and mechanical divisions on Collins Class submarines
  • I was required to complete ITAR training and a defence clearance to obtain access to Garden Island
  • My key duties included: completing the required paperwork and procedures as per ASC and Navy criteria, the removal and replacement of hydraulic, pneumatic and manual valves, pumps, trelleborgs and heat exchanges, tube bending, alignment of pumps and motors with use of Rotalign, face machining and fitting pipework, involvement in dry docking of submarine, pressure testing tanks and water systems, and submarine ballast weight compensating systems, removal and inspections of periscopes, removal and maintenance of casings
  • During my time at ASC I was awarded two certificates for ‘commitment’ and ‘unleashing my potential’, which were nominated by ASC
  • Schenck Process – Fitter Machinist: Whilst working at Schenck I undertook work involving the refurbishment of exciter gearboxes in a fast-paced workshop
  • Some of my key duties include: stripping of gear boxes, assembling new gear boxes, fitting shafts, bearings, gears and seals, completing detailed job reports, Mig welding, testing new built exciter gear boxes on a test bed, fitting swing segments to gear boxes.

Hofmann Engineering - Fitter Machinist

  • I completed my apprenticeship at Hofmann Engineering
  • During my time there I worked in various sections of the trade
  • Some of key duties included: strip and assess and assembly jobs on equipment such as pinion shafts, slew rings, rope sheaves, roll crushers, jaw crushers, ball mills, gear boxes and hydraulic cylinders, various types of machining including manual turning, milling, surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, and manual and CNC gear cutting, working in a maintenance fitter role doing jobs such as building a rotary table and foundation, levelling machine beds, repairing and refurbishing gear cutting machines and various other machines, routine maintenance tasks, stick and mig welding, mine site work.
