My background is in Fisheries Science and Marine Resource Management and I have been involved in Climate Change work and conservation with mostly community based field work activities which involved data collection, processing and analysis to support fisheries management. Furthermore, with more than 5 years of work experience, 3-5 years of experience are in project management, budget planning and negotiations, consultation and stakeholder engagement with relevant institutional bodies and government partners and donors. I am a highly-motivated employee with desire to take on new challenges. Strong worth ethic, adaptability and exceptional interpersonal skills. National Project Manager

GEF/FAO STAR National R2R Project, “Resilient Islands, Resilient Communities”

Responsible for the management and implementation of project activities in three (3) selected sites in Kiribati. Some of the key functions include;

  • Secretary role in project steering committee (PSC) and facilitate organization of project management committee (PMC) and other site-specific and project-related meetings;
  • Reporting on project funds and related record keeping as per the annual work plan (AWP) and develop monitoring and reporting of activities and budgets;
  • Coordinate the work of all project sites, including contractual agreements e.g. Letters of agreement with project partners;
  • Prepare progress and financial reports and ensure timely submission to GEF/FAO and maintaining effective communication with the relevant authorities, institutions and government departments through conducting trainings, workshops, brainstorm, working group meetings and in developing awareness material and reports;
  • Provide technical advice to project partners in the development and implementation of the integrated marine and land management plans;
  • Prepare and oversee the development of Terms of Reference for Project consultants and experts, as and when required including recruitment and supervising them;
  • Prepare brief monthly updates on the project progress and draft project interim and final technical reports as required on activities undertaken, lessons learned and points for withdrawal mechanism.
