My role involved helping patients regain lost function,improve mobility and enhance independence through various therapies , excercises, and interventions tailored to their specific needs.Collaborated closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalsied treatment plans aimed at maximising each patients recovery potential.
In my palliative placement , I had the privilege to care for patients who had life-limiting illnesses, focus on managing their symptoms and pain, maximising comfort and maintaining quality of life. My role involved attending to patients, physical, emotional and spiritual needs.Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop compreensive care plans, administration of medications for pain and symptom management,providing emotional support to the patient and their families. Involved in the facilitation of end of life discussions and decision making. I was able to utilise my compassion for the sensitive enviroment I was in to focus on enhancing the comfort and dignity of patients during their end of life journey. I was also chosen out of my co-hort to assist with a rare disease (Fourniers Gangrene) which focused on complex wound care and pain management.
