Receive checks for EHRR/NSI offenders – review and register these requests onto the EHRR/NSI register
Email the relevant External Agency (EA) for advice on these requests – also follow up with them periodically if response/advice are delayed
Allocate these checks to the team members for processing as per priority
Forward completed checks to General Manager (GM) CIG for consideration (ensure to include the copy of the request along with the response document)
On behalf of GM CIG, action checks that requires procedural fairness (PF) to be applied – and follow up with centre staff for a response for the PF
Keep track of checks that have been forwarded to Assistant Commissioner’s (AC) office and/or Commissioner’s office until an outcome is received
Keep the EHRR/NSI register, and the tracking sheet/word document updated through the various stages of processing
Scan and save the final signed copy of the checks onto the relevant folders on the M:Drive
Save the approval letters that are sent out to applicants by Visits Review Unit (VRU) onto the relevant M: drive folders – VRU forwards scanned copies of the approval letters that they send out to applicants to us for our records
Update the EHRR/NSI inmate list as and when required or changes take place and disseminate list to centres and all relevant business units within CSNSW who are involved in the management of these inmates
Collate and compile an updated list, monthly, of all relevant court dates, designation, classification, and movements of EHRR/NSI inmates
Answer queries raised by GM CIG in relation to these checks
Answer queries from centre staff, VRU and CIG staff in relation to these checks
Send out an email at least once every week with a list of outstanding checks
