I completed a four-year dual trade Electrical/Instrumentation apprenticeship program, passing the Electrical capstone in October 2023, receiving my Certificate III in Electrical - Industrial Electrician, along with my Certificate IV in Engineering (Instrumentation). During the apprenticeship and the years since qualifying, I have learned many valuable skills; these include, but are not limited to:

• Installing and maintaining electrical systems for industrial instrumentation.
• Calibrating instruments to ensure accurate readings and performance.
• Repairing and maintaining burner management systems (BMS).
• Installing, maintaining and repairing Bently-Nevada vibration monitoring systems on installations including fan blowers, bauxite product pumps and boiler feed pumps.
• Carrying out shutdown repair and maintenance work on gas turbines, natural gas steam boilers, turbine alternators, calciners, liquor burners, and various Bayer process plant infrastructure.
• Collaborating with engineering teams on electrical system upgrades and modifications.
• Conducting routine inspections of power generation systems to ensure operational safety.
• Assisting in training junior technicians and apprentices on safety protocols and maintenance procedures.
• Diagnosing and repairing faults in high-voltage circuits and equipment.
• Testing low and high-voltage electrical components using specialized tools and equipment.
• Identifying the root causes of problems with process control systems using problem-solving techniques.
• Utilizing Honeywell Global User Stations to fault-find, diagnose, and simulate various faults and process conditions.
• Actively engaged in performance management, with consistent improvement, and active feedback from my supervisors and peers.

• In this role at Bunnings, my job included tasks such as simple stock management and general tidying of the warehouse, to complex and in-depth problem solving generally centered around customer special orders and striving to always deliver what a customer wants and needs.
• Bunnings required me to think on the spot and adapt to different situations appropriately, while utilizing skills that have been instilled in me, including the use of various pieces of job-specific machinery, while making sure all team members and customers remain safe.
• Additionally, whilst at Bunnings I was part of the Safety Improvement Team (SIT) for 12 months, before starting university, in which the team discussed relevant safety incidents from our store and incidents nationally and what appropriate measures needed to be taken to mitigate these issues.

• In this role I greeted and served customers, handled cash and worked EFTPOS, prepared and cooked meals using electric grills, deep fryers and microwaves, and cleaned everything in the shop
• Working at ‘Kaptain Kod’ has developed my problem solving and time management skills with every task being completed being under strict time frames whilst upholding safe working standards
