During my 12 years working with Hunter Valley Operations, I developed a sound Skill Set within the Mining sector, operating heavy Haul trucks, Tracked and rubber tyre dozers, along with heavy float trucks moving Dozers Etc to their new positions. Safety first is a must in the mining industry, followed very closely by Productive operation technics with Team work and communication required to maintain a viable operation.

I developed a sound repore with my team members and Management /Supervisors, being a person they could rely upon to complete a task in a timely professional manner.

I would always make myself available to remain after rostered shift and extra shifts when available.

During my 15 years with this Company, I held numerous positions. Commencing with labouring positions, to Human resources conducting interviews for new employees, and handling termination and disciplinary issues as they arrived.

I progressed through the work force with positions as afternoon shift manager for approx 3 years and for the last 6 years as Maintenance Supervisor/ Manager. I was often thought of as the trouble shooter, being placed in positions which needed to be performed to Company Specifications. Then training new staff into those positions and ensuring they were performing the duties in a professional and productive manner.

Team work and communication within the work environment are vital to ensure a company remains productive and profitable, I believe to hold a position within any company is a privilege not a right. Ensuring your attendance is 100 percent and making yourself available for OT whenever asked to do so.

As a member of the NSW Police Force, Team work allows you and your fellow Officers to go through your rostered shift and return home safe to your family. Dealing with members of the public can be very awarding and yet sometimes frustrating experience. With this having a sound set of communication skills and a Professional Manner reduces confrontation and allows you to proceed through your shift to perform your next task as it arrives. The Police Academy gives you the basic skills and knowledge of developing a Police Career, your years on the street learning from your peers and supervisors Makes you a valuable member of a team.

I had a rewarding and enjoyable career as a Police Officer, in both Uniformed and Plain clothes operations. Working closely with other divisions and the Judicial System, ensuring the lives and property of our community members were safe and protected.

After working for 4 years, I tried to reach my goal as a Police Officer, finding my education level was not suitable for the Police Force, I returned to High School, to complete years 11 & 12 at the age of 20 to 21.

I believe this shows that I am dedicated to my goals and will do what ever it takes to achieve them.

My first Job was a position in a local privately owned Sapphire and Gold Mining Company, at 16 y/old I commenced working within the prospecting field, off-siding on a Drilling rig expanding the Companies mining leases. After turning 18 y/old, I commenced operating other equipment, Shortly after due to my work ethics and honesty, I was offered a position in handling the precious Gem stones and Gold, an area where very few employees were allowed to enter.

In this area I was taught how to use the magnetic separator machines and how to separate the Gems and Gold by hand.
