As an experienced early childhood professional specialising in trauma-aware education, I served as the Director of Education and Learning at a charitable trust. In this role, I led a team of 6 consultants to facilitate the work of the trust in predominantly disadvantaged communities.
I collaborated with various stakeholders such as professional bodies, school leadership, early learning providers and services, allied health, community groups, and charitable organisations, to cocreate effective engagement to meet the needs of children and adults.
My expertise lies in influencing change and fostering collaborative partnerships with school and early years leadership teams. I excel as a mentor and coach, utilising critical reflection to drive innovation and change. My approach emphasises creating a safe, trusting, and creatively collaborative environment through deep listening and connection.
With extensive experience in regional and remote communities throughout western Queensland up to the Gulf of Carpentaria, I prioritise a relational pedagogy to promote social and emotional learning for all children. My goal is to support educators in adopting a neuroscience lens to deepen their understanding of the impact of their practices on children's outcomes.
